ABOUT
West Coast Kelp Ltd. is a leader in kelp cultivation and restoration, proudly operating on Vancouver Island in the traditional territories of the nuučaanuł First Nations. We collaborate closely with our partners to implement regenerative kelp farming and restoration initiatives that support both ecological and economic goals.
Our mission is to advance Canada’s emerging kelp sector by delivering innovative, scalable solutions that drive industry growth and foster high-impact collaborations. THE NURSERY
The Nursery is at the heart of our operations, serving as the foundation for successful kelp restoration and farming projects. At this specialized facility, we cultivate the early life stages of various species of kelp for our partners and clients.

THE NURSERY
Upon establishing West Coast Kelp, President & Founder, Tom Campbell began constructing the company’s first kelp nursery at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre.

In addition to supplying kelp farmers and restoration initiatives with seed, our nursery facilitates innovation and experimentation to improve seed production
KELP FOREST RESTORATION
The scientific field of kelp restoration is growing and producing exciting new discoveries. Evidence suggests the path to successful, large-scale restoration is through collaboration. By providing restoration initiatives with access to high-quality seed and efficient methods, we believe we can contribute to meaningful partnerships to reinforce coastal ecosystems.
