Tom Campbell
President & Founder
After earning his B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of British Columbia, Tom relocated to the remote coastal community of Bamfield on Vancouver Island to pursue a career in marine science. Initially working in in the non-profit sector, Tom gained valuable experience in marine conservation before transitioning into roles focused on advancing mission-driven businesses within the Blue Economy.
As the President and Founder of West Coast Kelp, Tom has established a pioneering company that delivers practical solutions for Canada’s emerging kelp sector. Largely self-taught through experiential learning, Tom exemplifies innovative leadership, blending creative problem-solving with integrity and meticulous attention to detail. As a recognized expert in kelp cultivation systems, he is dedicated to empowering kelp farmers and restoration practitioners while driving the sector toward its full potential.
