Green Gravel consists of young kelp propagules cultivated on small rocks. These rocks are then used to replant kelp beds that require restorative intervention.
As the kelp propagules outgrow the small rock, they attach to the underlying reef, creating new habitat for the ecosystem.
Green Gravel is one of the world's most promising methods in kelp forest restoration and is currently being used around the world.
